Mercedes-Benz, in partnership with Esquire and Hugo Boss, ran the first of their MB Night Stars evenings at Provocateur in Dubai on March 18. Nightlife lovers had their pictures taken outside the fashionable club by a professional photographer in the sleek company of a of a Mercedes-Benz dream car.
The series will continue every weekend throughout April. Mercedes-Benz Esquire, and Hugo Boss are selecting one Night Star of the Week. An overall winner from the series will also feature in this year’s Esquire Best Dressed list, out on June 1st.

What’s your favourite wardrobe item and why?
A good pair of loafers; perfect for almost all situations.
What three wardrobe items can you not live with you?
Loafers, wristwatch, and a pair of good quality briefs.
How would you describe your style?
Smart, trendy.
How does your personality reflect your style?
I’m approachable and assertive; my of fashion style reflect that.
What’s the best style advice you’ve even been given?
Dress for the occasion; don’t turn up a beach party in a tux. Also, wearing too many branded clothes at the same makes you look like a schmuck. I see that too many times in this region.
Who gave you that advice?
I can’t remember. Or maybe I came up with it myself after seeing some epic fails out there!
How has your style changed as you’ve got older?
Not really; I just move with the trends.
Does your style change when you travel?
Nope, it’s always consistent. Style should stay the same regardless of location.
Who’s your style icon and why?
Idris Elba always pulls off the trendy/smart look.
What is your favourite outfit and why?
There’s no particular favourite as it really depends on the occasion. You’ll find me in loafers, shorts and a polo shirt if I’m out at sea. In the evenings, it’s usually a slim-fit shirt, pants and the appropriate loafers, sometimes with a blazer if the occasion demands.
How does it make you feel?
Like I’m ready to face whatever the occasion throws at me.
