For the 16th year in a row, the eagerly anticipated and lauded, Emirates Literature Fest returns to Dubai from January 31 to February 6, 2024, at the Intercontinental hotel in Dubai Festival City. Get your tickets here

This is an exciting opportunity for aspiring, and established, readers and writers to interact with, and listen to, some of the most lauded authors, agents, and industry people from around the world to bond over one of the greatest things we share as human beings: storytelling. The week long event is closing in on nearly twenty years of success, a longstanding staple in Dubai’s rapidly growing cultural landscape.

Some of those, among others, who will be in attendance is Sheila Crowley, a literary agent at Curtis Brown (one of the most respected agencies in the world); Sara Hamdan, who just signed a two book deal for her book What Will People Think; Cecilia Ahern, Irish author of the international bestseller (and film adaptation) P.S. I love You, and many, many more.

And the best part about those just mentioned is that Esquire Middle East has exclusive interviews with all of them, so stay tuned for the upcoming interviews as we inch closer to the festival.

Here is a video from this year’s Lit Fest.

One specific event generating buzz is the recent addition of: Discovery Talks, where freee lectures will be given on a variety of different subjects such as The Spiderverse, Arabic language, AI, and Chinese mythology.

There is one thing we never have too much of, and that’s good storytelling, and for those, like myself, who are new to Dubai, it will be very exciting to listen to, and engage, with new, upcoming talent.
