You can work on a Formula One car down to the millimetre, modelling airflow, shaving off grams, and simulating tyre strategies. But sometimes, the gap between fifth place and a podium finish comes down to something as simple as how many hours of sleep the driver managed the night before.
That’s why, for its 2026 season, Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team has decided that sleep deserves the same attention as aerodynamics. On February 10 in Silverstone, the team announced a new partnership with Eight Sleep, a sleep technology company whose flagship product, the Pod, is designed to optimise recovery through temperature regulation and continuous physiological tracking.
This is especially vital in the motorsport context because while racing at this level demands lightning-speed reflexes, it also requires sustained physical output, mental clarity and resilience across a calendar that zigzags the globe. Naturally, recovery becomes the glue holding team performance together, and high-quality deep sleep influences everything from reaction times to tough strategy calls under pressure.
This is where the Pod comes in, drawing on one of the world’s largest proprietary sleep and biometric datasets. By combining AI with real-time physiological data, the technology aims to help the team adapt more quickly to fluctuating training loads, travel demands and race schedules.

Trackside, the partnership will be visible on the car’s nose, drivers’ balaclavas, cooling vests, and handheld fans in the garage.
Matteo Franceschetti, CEO and Co-Founder, Eight Sleep, shared his thoughts on the collaboration as well. “By combining AI, real-time physiology, and one of the largest sleep datasets in existence, we help turn recovery into a competitive advantage,” he said. “We are proud to support Aston Martin Aramco this season as they push performance to its limits,” he added.
2026 brings a clean sheet for Formula One, with brand new regulations set to reshuffle the order. With the rules changing, no one can say who will emerge on top once the lights go out, but Eight Sleep and Aston Martin Aramco are making sure their preparation, right down to sleep, isn’t left to chance.
