Attention to tourists planning to travel to Dubai or those who are currently in the city on a visit visa, it is important to be aware of a recent policy change.
Dubai has implemented a new rule that eliminates the ten-day grace period, previously granted to individuals who exceed the permitted duration of their visit visa.
According to information received by Arabian Business, individuals who overstay their visit visas will now be subject to a daily fine of Dhs50.
It’s really not that deep
Though jet-setters and “influencers” will already know- you are permitted 60 days of entry with a visit visa to the emirate, with an opportunity for visa extension twice within that period.
If you intend to extend your stay in Dubai beyond the permitted duration, you have the option to apply for a 30-day extension visa through the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security (ICP) website.
By following the necessary procedures (a couple forms) outlined on the ICP website, you can request the extension and continue your stay in Dubai completely legally and sans fine.
Completing the application process in a timely manner will ensure a smooth and uninterrupted stay, and remember to apply for the second renewal prior to the first one/s expiry.
Visa renewals cost Dhs600.
