To ease the burden for those overwhelmed by the options, we’ve gone ahead and curated a list of what we think are a few of the  most noteworthy attractions and activities that we wouldn’t miss. There is far too much to get to everything in this article so we’d definitely recommend making some time this weekend to explore for yourself.

Don’t miss out on these displays and workshops

How Much Does Your Debris Weigh?

Quartz Architects

This instillation aims to provoke the viewer by demonstrating a visual representation of the wast accumulated by humans and our consuming habits. Art and design are important tools for igniting social change, and the first step in that process of course, is awareness. The display demonstrates the scale of the catastrophe we are facing by placing tons of debris and waste above the viewers heads.

Dream Symbolism Printmaking workshop

Nassra Al-Bouainain

Dreams can be elusive and confusing, this workshop invites participants to attempt and recall a dream from memory and symbolize the dream artistically throughout the session. Nassra Al-Bouainain is an Abu Dhabi based multi disciplinary artist who primarily focuses on spirituality and the human experience. Participants of the workshop will bee invited to attempt to decipher some sort of symbolic memory from their dream, carving that symbol into a Lino block and using the carving to make a print. This experience seems to be a personal one so we think it’s worth checking out for sure.

The worshop takes place on Saturday November 12th from 1 to 3pm, so plan accordingly.

Grounded in Hope

Meher Sahney and Abdul Hazeeb

This installation conveys a message of sustainable design and architecture , displaying a iteration of a tree fitted with repurposed fabric. The use of old materials grounds the tree in the past, and in reference to the installations title, provides a sense of hope that we are capably of revitalizing what might be considered waste or trash to make something new. Encouraging responsible architecture, this is an important piece worth both your eyes and consideration.

Dubai Design Week at d3 wraps up this Sunday, and is open all weekend from 11am to 11pm, check out the installations listed above and do some of your own exploring.
