After years of rumours, Drake has finally bought an engagement ring diamond. Well, 42 of them to be exact. But he’s not planning to propose to anyone any time in the near future, as far as we can tell. Instead, he’s had them each custom-fitted into a necklace for himself, dedicated to each of the women he planned to propose to, but decided not to in the end.
In total, 42 stones count for 351.38 carats in diamonds, according to TMZ. They’re fitted in 18K white gold and set using the eagle claw technique.
How much is Drake’s engagement ring necklace worth?
How much is that worth? Well let’s break it down. If there’s 42 stones totaling 351+ carats, that would put each one at around 8 carats–which is estimated to cost between $12k and $40k per diamond.
Let’s say he paid $20k per carat. That would mean he got each 8 carat diamond for around $160,000. Multiply that by 42, and that puts this at $6.7 million. Add the white gold and custom fees, and we’re talking $7 million plus–likely more.
Of course, this is an estimate, Drake has not announced the price of his necklace.
The piece was made by celebrity jeweler Alex Moss, who revealed that the piece is called “Previous Engagements”. It’s tribute to all the women that Drake thought about asking to marry him, but didn’t follow through with.
“New piece titled “Previous Engagements” for all the times he thought about it but never did it,” Ross wrote on Instagram.

Drake has been seen wearing the piece recently in public.
Drake is a returning client of Moss, after Moss made him a custom ring back in August that is also fitted with diamonds. He also custom made an owl ring for Drake back in in February, dedicated to the owl in Drake’s OVO brand, or October’s Very Own.
Moss has posted photos of the two together, signaling that their partnership in ideating and executing custom chains and other jewelry pieces is far from over.

As for which women Drake’s necklace is referring to, we can only speculate. At first, we’ll speculate Rihanna. Alright that’s all we’ve got so far, but that’s the easy one. Feel free to speculate further! Speculation is fun!
