Unless you’re an insanely talented psychic, you probably didn’t have Dolce&Gabbana getting involved in the eSports space on your checklist for 2022. The web series, entitled “gooDGame”, is produced by Frame by Frame and was dropped on the Dolce & Gabbana website and youtube channel on November 4th.

The series follows the stories of four of the most prominent eSports teams on the planet, MKERS, Darkzero, Mibr and Scarz. Personal and professional growth of the gaming champions are documented both behind the screen and in the real lives of the players that make up the international cast of players. The project was born from the fashion house’s collaboration with Italian eSports company, MKERS, the show takes on the backdrops of the four metropolises where the teames reside, Rome(MKERS), Las Vegas(Darkzero), Sao Paolo(Mibr), and Tokyo(Scarz).

The first episode of the series serves as an introduction for each team, and further the environments in which they reside. Whether it’s issues with the internet in Brazil, or the acceptance of the career path from American parents, there are a lot of questions answered that many viewers will surely have wondered about.

Celebrating the launch of the web series, Dolce & Gabbana has releases a special limited collection, dedicated to gamers and exclusively available on their website.

Multiple members of the cast can be seen sporting the the blue and green tie-dye inspired look in the first episode.

The web series is a very enlightening watch, particularly if you are unaware of the eSports scene. It explores all of the dynamics of the profession, encompassing the personal lives, professional relationships, and logistical aspects of the job.

In and of itself, the mere existence of this collaboration and project is telling of the direction in which the industry is headed. We have been seeing more and more partnerships between designers and conventional sports teams, this progression into the digital space seems natural, especially given the larger and larger audiences eSports continues to accumulate.
