If there was a couple that embodies the phrase “love is worth the wait”, it would be Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez as the two got married in Las Vegas after waiting behind four other couples at the drive-thru chapel.
20 years after getting engaged, J-Lo confirmed that Bennifer are officially married on Sunday in her online newsletter, On the JLo.

“Love is beautiful. Love is kind. And it turns out love is patient. Twenty years patient. Exactly what we wanted. Last night we flew to Vegas, stood in line for a license with four other couples, all making the same journey to the wedding capital of the world.”
The couple had dated back in the early 2000’s, being labelled as ‘Bennifer’ but had called off their engagement and started dating again last year. The two had starred in two rom-com movies together, Gigli in 2003 and Jersey Girl in 2004.
Viva Las Vegas
To top it all off, Bennifer were able to take some photos in an Elvis Presley signature pink Cadillac which was supposedly used by the king of rock & roll himself.
Fortunately for the newlyweds, the Elvis impersonator was ‘in bed’ that night which meant that his ride was available for their children to take photos in to celebrate the wedding.

Ben Affleck and J-Lo wanted to officially declare their love
While some of the current generation argue that people don’t need a piece of paper to validate their love, the now Jennifer Lynn Affleck stated that she and Affleck were there with another couple who drove three hours to get the chapel. All wanting to officially declare their love to the world.
“In front of us, a young couple who made the three-hour drive from Victorville on their daughter’s second birthday — all of us wanting the same thing — for the world to recognize us as partners and to declare our love to the world through the ancient and nearly universal symbol of marriage. We barely made it to the Little White Wedding Chapel by midnight.”
Ben Affleck wore a jacket from his closet while Lopez wore a dress from an old movie. The singer mentioned that she was grateful for the Little White Wedding chapel for letting her use the break room to change into one of her two gowns she wore that night while Ben changed into his wedding attire in the men’s room.

In attendance were their children Max Muniz and Emme as well as Affleck’s children Seraphina, Violet and Samuel Affleck.
“We read our own vows in the little chapel and gave one another the rings we’ll wear for the rest of our lives,” said the singer, going on to state:
“It was the best possible wedding we could have imagined. One we dreamed of long ago and one made real (in the eyes of the state, Las Vegas, a pink convertible and one another) at very, very long last.”
All you really need is love
In a time where societal pressure makes us debate whether we need to have a lavish wedding with hundreds of guests or an intimate wedding with only the people we care most about in attendance, Affleck née Lopez emphasises that when it comes down to it, all you need is love.
“They were right when they said, ‘all you need is love’. We are so grateful to have that in abundance, a wonderful new family of five amazing children and a life that we have never had more reason to look forward to. Stick around long enough and maybe you’ll find the best moment of your life in a drive through in Las Vegas at twelve thirty in the morning in the tunnel of love drive through, with your kids and the one you’ll spend forever with. Love is a great thing, maybe the best of things-and worth waiting for.”
Well even if Ben Affleck wanted to break the news in a Twitter post with the cliché “ She said yes!” caption, apparently there wasn’t much service in the chapel, so the post would’ve just been stuck uploading. At least this forced them to take in the moment and upload the photos later thanks to hotel WiFi.
