Forbes has released its sixth-annual self-made women list

Forbes has released its annual ranking of the 100 richest self-made women across business and entertainment, revealing that they are collectively worth over US$90 billion.

The top ten includes Oprah Winfrey (with US$2.6 billion in the bank) and is topped by Diane Hendricks with the highest net worth of US$8 billion courtesy of her windows and roofing company ABC Supply.

Elsewhere on the list includes Kim Kardashian West (US$750 million), Rihanna (US$600 million) and Beyoncé (US$420 million).

Kyle Jenner is the youngest woman on the list (US$700 million) which is significantly less than the US$1 billion that Forbes previously reported.

The business title analyses net worth by valueing individual assets, including property and stocks in public companies. Forbes values private companies via consulting with experts, and then comparing them to public companies (so it’s not an exact science).

Each person on the list is also given a ‘self-made’ score. Serena Williams, for example, received a score of nine meaning she is a ‘rags to riches to entrepreneur’. Kim Kardashian received a score of seven.

In other news, Arab Fashion Week is set to take place from October 21 – 24, supported by Microsoft. Facebook will also play a big part, broadcasting the show to its users.
