This season has seen a fashion week like no other. Over the last few months we’ve witnessed digital shows, the catwalk replaced by video promos and more than a couple gamechanging announcements. Today is the latest twist in the bizarro fashion summer of 2020, with Louis Vuitton unveiling its men’s Spring-Summer 2021 collection live from Shanghai.
That’s right, you read that correctly, the vision of artistic director Virgil Abloh will not be strutted down the runways of Louis Vuitton’s ancestral home of Paris, but instead halfway across the world in the Chinese metropolis.
In his boundary-pushing style Abloh unveiled a film called ‘Zooom with friends’—created by Reggieknow of Fashion Figure Inc.—featuring a series of animated characters that teased the story in the build up to today’s Shanghai show.
You can watch the unveiling of the next chapter in the famous marques’ menswear line below: The show starts at 14:30 (Gulf Standard Time) on 6 August.
