Actions come after Sheikh Mohammed launches a campaign of thanks for ‘protectors of the homeland’

Hundreds of residents in Dubai and across the UAE came together to cheer for the UAE’s health workers last night, taking to their balconies to bang pots and pans in solidarity. 

The videos currently doing the rounds on social media, residents in various communities around Dubai (including The Dubai marina and Dubai Production City) made themselves heard after frontline vehicles drove around their communities. 

This comes after His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and ruler of Dubai, launched a campain of thanks for health workers. 

Sheih Mohammed commended the UAE’s health worlers, saying they are “protectors of the homeland today”.

“You are fulfilling a great national duty of saving the lives of our citizens and our residents,” His Highness underlined.

Sheikh Mohammed also said that the UAE’s frontline wokers would not be alone in combating the coronavirus. 

“You are not alone. Your mission is great, but our determination is even greater. May God safeguard you and our people. Wishing health and prosperity for our country and the world,
