Hader Ackerman, the new creative director behind legendary brand, Tom Ford, will debut his first ever collection with the brand on Wednesday, March 5, during Paris Fashion Week. Although little has been revealed about the highly anticipated debut, last Sunday night at the Vanity Fair Oscars party, Mister Tambourine Man reincarnate, Timothée Chalamet, stunned the cameras in one of Ackerman’s Tom Ford suits.
Although Chalamet lost his second Oscar nomination to Adrien Brody, he undoubtedly won top prize in the style category with this polka dot jacquard cropped blazer, a lapel-less button up, and slim black trousers.
If Timmy’s Oscar’s threads are anything to go by, Tom Ford is in good hands.
Ackerman’s debut also marks the first time an American brand will debut a show in the French capital, making this a major milestone for everyone from Tom Ford himself, to his new creative director, to even Chalamet, who one can only assume will be in attendance to support his friend on the biggest day of his career.
And although Timmy didn’t win an Oscar, he can hang his head high in knowing that all the pressure is off, and the ‘curse of the Oscar win’ won’t be haunting him, at least for now. If we’re being brutally honest, as pumped as I am for Mikey Madison’s win, considering that she’s hardly acted in anything major before the multi award-winning Anora, the pressure on her to turn in the next Citizen Kane will be quite titanic. Over the last 48 hours, she’s undoubtedly received offers to star in the next Marvel franchise, Netflix is banging down her door, and then, of course, the respected albeit low budget indie kings are presumably throwing their name in the hat too. Fingers crossed this win doesn’t result in a Cuba Gooding Jr. like career descent (sorry).
