Apple has unveiled its latest iteration of smartwatches, the Apple Watch Series 10, sporting a larger, brighter screen and a slimmer profile than its predecessors.
The new model, which features a 40% brighter wide-angle OLED display, is now the largest display used in any Apple Watch, even surpassing the dimensions of the Apple Watch Ultra.

This Series 10 watch is just 9.7mm thick — 10% thinner and lighter than the Series 9. Apple’s innovative design choices enable this thinness while still providing users with functional enhancements, such as an extra line of text onscreen for easy at-a-glance information check, whether it be emails, messages, or notifications. Despite the size change, Apple assures compatibility with older accessories.
The new 42 and 46mm cases work seamlessly with existing straps from Series 9 and previous models. New straps designed specifically for the Series 10 will also fit older watch models, ensuring users can accessorize to their liking without extra costs. Under the hood, the Series 10 boasts the new S10 SiP with a four-core neural engine.
The polished aluminum finish and metal back integrate various antennas and offer robust design features. Notably, the watch is water-resistant up to 50 meters and includes a larger charging coil, allowing the battery to reach 80% capacity in just 30 minutes. The battery life remains on par with previous models at about 18 hours.

One of the standout features of the Series 10 is sleep apnea detection. Utilizing its built-in accelerometer, the watch monitors respiratory patterns during sleep and can flag potential interruptions. The device will alert users and generate a report to share with healthcare providers for further analysis, pending US FDA approval.
Apple has also tweaked the watch’s speaker settings. Although the speakers are smaller, this change contributes to a better battery life without compromising sound quality. Excitingly, users can now stream music and podcasts directly from the watch, adding a new dimension to its functionality beyond voice calls. And adventure awaits with the Series 10’s built-in temperature and depth sensors – ideal for snorkelers and divers.

The watch supports the new watchOS 11 that includes the Tides app and enhanced paddling tracking for kayaking enthusiasts. The OS upgrade also sees new fitness features like the Vitals app, Training Load measurements, and the ability to pause Activity Rings, giving users a breather without disrupting their fitness streak.
Available in several colors and finishes – including natural, gold, and slate titanium – the Series 10’s polished aluminum jet black option is probably our favorite.
Starting at AED1,600 for the GPS-only model and AED2,800 for the cellular version, the watch can be preordered now and will hit stores on September 20th.
