The iconic leather brown fedora worn by Indiana Jones (erm, Harrison Ford*) in 1984’s Temple of Doom is up for sale, and is expected to rack up AED 1.8 million when it officially goes on auction next month on August 15-18, 2024.
“It’s one of the nicest Indiana Jones pieces that we’ve ever handled,” said Brandon Alinger, COO of auction house Propstore. “It has all the details that you want to see in an Indiana Jones hat, meaning it’s marked IJ inside, which is how all the other authentic hats that we’ve seen have been market. It has some nice wear on it. There’s small evidence of makeup traces in front of the hat band on the interior.”
The hat currently belongs to the estate of Harrison Ford’s stuntman, Dean Ferrandini, who passed away last year, 2023.
One of the key items from Temple of Doom is an authentic Sankara Stone, which Alinger described as “the sacred rock Indiana Jones seeks to retrieve for the villagers in the film,” which has an estimated value between AED 91k to 183k.
Another piece generating some hype is John Travolta’s leather jacket from Saturday Night Fever, the Ghostface costume from the original Scream, and Dan Akroyd’s black suit from The Blues Brothers.

And for those who forgot, Temple of Doom featured the recently Oscar winning actor Ke Huy Quan, who, after nearly forty years of struggling for another major role, won over hearts and the critics in the multiple Oscar winning Everything, Everywhere All at Once.
The auction will take place between August 15- 18, 2024 and bids can be placed here.
