Soon after former-heavyweight champ Tyson Fury announced he wants to enter the UFC Octagon, the president of the organisation has fired back with his disapproval of the move.
Fury back in 2015 was a true boxing legend, briefly becoming the WBA, IBF, WBO, IBO, The Ring magazine, and lineal heavyweight champion. His win against defending champ Wladimir Klitscko had him soar to new heights.
Fury’s titles however were stripped due to doping allegations and he didn’t return to fighting till 2018. Fast forward to 2019 and he’s still winning boxing bouts with an impressive 29-0-1 record.
The heavyweight though has decided to switch gears, trying his luck with both WWE and MMA. UFC president Dana White doesn’t think Fury should depart from boxing, even if he is going to get training from The Notorious himself.

“Fury’s worked hard his whole life to become one of the top four [heavyweights] in the world in boxing,” he told the media in New York according to talkSport.
“Why would you wanna even come over and attempt this? I don’t think it ends well for him. It doesn’t make sense for his career.”
Fury, otherwise known as the Gypsy King, has already set himself out a warpath in MMA, willing to use his boxing skills against any heavyweight in the Octagon.
He told iFL TV: “Any of the heavyweight champions they’ve got. I ain’t afraid of any of them. I’m the Gypsy King. Listen, I’m a boxer, but I am one bad ass mofo.”
Even with White throwing in his opinion, Fury seems ever keen to try martial arts. Along with the help of Conor McGregor, the heavyweight has hinted he may give the new fighting form a professional go as soon as this year or next.
Fury told Sky Sports:
“We might see Tyson Fury have his MMA debut this year. Tyson Fury is taking over. I have been speaking to Conor [McGregor] about it. He’s willing to train me. It’s gonna be good.”

Fury has also confirmed, according to talkSport, he will rematch Deontay Wilder next year. Wilder is the only person to have drawn with Fury back in 2018.
