El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie is within our grasp, landing on Netflix in little over a month. Finally we’ve got another trailer to overanalyse, so here we go.
We all knew it was guaranteed, but finally there’s a trailer with Jesse Pinkman right there in front of us, sitting in, as the film title suggests, an El Camino. Clocking in at just over one-minute, a normal person may write this trailer off as nothing but a teaser, but I’m here, with my conspiracy Heisenberg hat on to ask some important questions.
El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie is released on October 11, you can watch the new trailer below:
The trailer shows Aaron Paul’s Jesse Pinkman alive, but not well, in his car, smoking and tuning into the news on the radio. The news report talks about the killing of Jack’s gang at the hands of Walt in the final episode. It describes the scene as a “massacre” with “nine victims”.
And that’s it folks, that’s all our benevolent mastermind Vince Gilligan has teased us with for now. So here’s the questions that popped into my mind while watching this trailer over and over.
Where did Jesse get the cigarette?
Last we saw of Jesse in the Breaking Bad finale was him dishevelled, essentially dressed in rags, with absolutely no belongings. The trailer however show’s him smoking, so what I want to know is how and when did he get that cigarette? Did he pull it out of the pockets of one of Jack’s men before his speedy escape? Did he pop into a store to buy a pack during his time on the run? This one little bad habit of Jesse’s makes me wonder the exact timeframe we’re looking at.
When did Jesse shave?
A similar query on when and where this trailer takes place. He’s tuning into the news at what sounds like moments after the shooting happened. Yet it looks as if he’s ditched his scruffy beard for a stubble look. When did he have time to shave?
Where is he?
Parked right in the middle of a field in New Mexico? Breaking Bad never gave us much greenery in the show, it was normally way out in the boonies as Jesse put it. This scene has our hero in the middle of quite a lot of nature, a stark contrast to the desert landscape we’re used to. Another question is where is heading?
Who are the nine victims?
The radio talks about the massacre and nine victims. Including Todd and Jack killed after the machine gun hellfire, only eight people were killed inside the compound by the shooting. We’re sorry to say it folks, but if there are nine ‘VICTIMS’, that means that Mr White is the ninth and didn’t make it after all. A hard pill to swallow.
