Since its inception in 2016, Swedish essentials brand CDLP has been revolutionising men’s underwear and basics, taking them from the overlooked throw-on items on your bedroom floor, to your much-loved first step of a considered morning routine.

Brand founders Christian Larson and Andreas Palm have made it a priority for guys to take as much time on their underwear choices as they do on their suits. Unveiling their latest design collaboration with Syrian born, Los Angeles-based artist Jwan Yosef. The capsule takes the brands hold on men’s basics to new heights with the introduction of an unsuspecting hero garment outside of the basics and sportswear pieces they have
built their reputation on.

Presenting a limited-edition capsule of elevated painter’s workwear style essentials. Yes, you read that right. Painter’s wear. It’s a thing now. Created after a conversation between Yosef and CDLP artistic director, Larson, regarding men’s individual takes on what an essential is. For some it’s underwear, for others, unique work uniforms. Boiler suits and coveralls are more and more becoming a regular occurrence in contemporary men’s fashion, gracing a runway or two at the men’s shows each season.

Mostly only being worn by the more daring, statement and style-led few among us. This new iteration gives a masculine, easy-wear and casual look that is bound to capture some more fans, offering a modern take on relaxed traditional tailoring as it does. It’s also technically workwear, so whilst it won’t pass for a corporate finance meeting, artists and creatives can rejoice in this new slant on smart casual.

“CDLP is encouraging men to take as much time choosing their underwear as they do their suits”

Yosef’s relaxed painting uniform has been reimagined into a tailored coverall in raw canvas, made in a limited run of only fifty pieces. Crafted in a luxurious new woven twill blend, this is the first CDLP product made locally in the brand’s hometown of Malmö.
