The celebrity chef Ramsay goes on an epic journey to Morocco, Peru, Hawaii, Laos and Alaska

While normally content to shout obsenities at lesser-skilled line chefs, the world’s most famous chef Gordon Ramsay will have to call upon every gram of his diplomatic skills as his new TV show, Gordon Ramsay:Uncharted will see him travelling to six far-flung destinations to help him expand his culinary knowhow.

In this new National Geographic series, the multi Michelin-star recipient (16, at our last check) sets off to immerse himself in new cultures, dishes and flavours. From Peru, Laos and Morocco to Hawaii, Alaska and New Zealand, he motorbikes through the Sacred Valley of the Incas, goes bare-hand eel fishing with Maoris, and hikes into the Atlas Mountains to try understand ancient Berber cuisine.

Throughout the series Ramsay uses local ingredients he harvests and dishes he tastes to inspire a new recipe from scratch, created to represent the heart of that culture. Each episode concludes with Ramsay challenging himself with a local food legend by his side — putting his newfound skills to the test as they cook a feast together for the locals.

“It has been an amazing journey travelling off the beaten path with National Geographic and connecting with locals to learn and share incredible stories of unique traditions, delicacies and the extreme lengths it takes to harvest native ingredients,” said Ramsay. “I have learned way more filming this series than I have in the last 10 years.”
