Always wanted to get verified on Instagram? It seems the days of applying fruitlessly are over. Starting this week, Meta, the parent company of the app, will be launching Meta Verified, a new paid service that allows any user to get verification on Instagram and Facebook for a set price.
This won’t be starting worldwide, though–it will, at first, only be in New Zealand and Australia. A note reportedly from Mark Zuckerberg, however, promises that more countries will be coming soon–meaning verification worldwide is not far off.
How much will Instagram verification cost with Meta Verified?
The price of Meta Verified, however, may be prohibitive for some users. Prices will be $11.99 per month on web, or $14.99 per month on Apple iOS. That will add up to around $180 a year for iOS users.
This won’t just come with a blue badge, however.

According to the Zuckerberg message, this will include extra impersonation protection against all accounts claiming to be you, and perhaps most important of all, direct access to customer support.
For all those who have had trouble getting in touch with support, this is the feature you’ve been waiting for.
“This new feature is about increasing authenticity and security across our services,” said Zuckerberg in the message.
How to get Meta Verified
Want to get involved? When it launches, all you’ll need are a government ID to get a blue badge, along with the paid subscription.
Twitter Blue, a similar service from Elon Musk’s Twitter, has also introduced the paid verification model, with reportedly 100,000 people signing up so far.
Best of luck with your blue tick, everyone!
