Jon Favreau made a live-action Jungle Book and everyone loved it. And now he’s doing the same again with The Lion King.
In a new two minute featurette, we see the connection between all the actors working on the film and the musical energy of it all.
Favreau has a tricky job. Tampering with The Lion King risks angering millions and millions of people who enjoyed the original.
It looks as if the Endgame-mastermind has done just that, with a new two and half minute clip showing just how positive the creative process of the film has been.
The video has a brief interview with Favreau, clips of Donald Glover, James Earl Jones (yep, Darth Vader is Mufasa), Seth Rogen and many more of the voice actors.
The clip also has a brief behind-the-scenes moment of ‘Hakuna Matata’ being recorded, which is then shown quickly in the film itself.
Favreau says it’s amazing to have names like Beyoncé, Glover and other musical talents on board as actors, making the film’s iconic musical moments all that more impressive.
