With over 80,000 passengers expected to travel every day, we have some things for you to bear in mind at the airport

  • From May 31 to June 3, there is expected to be over 309,000 Emirates passengers traveling from Dubai

  • With so many people coming at the airport, there are a few changes to the check-in rules you need to know

  • Traffic congestion around terminals and road works mean that giving yourself extra time is a must

Eid is finally here, and with a week long holiday for both the private and public sector, a lot of people in Dubai are understandably looking for a great Eid staycationholiday abroad. So, we’ve got together a few things to bear in mind before you fly out.

The busiest time for departures in Terminal 3 is said to be May 31, with over 80,000 passengers travelling abroad that day. From the 31st to the 3rd of June in fact, it is expected there will be 309,000 passengers flocking to Dubai International.

With this in mind, we strongly advise people to arrive at the airport at least three hours before their flights, if not four hours. There’s going to be a lot of traffic around the airports and Terminal 3, couple this with road works and we’re going to say you need to give yourself about double the time that the journey would normally take you.

Passengers can check-in for their flight as early as 24 hours beforehand in person, you can do this online too of course from 48 hours to 90 minutes before the plane leaves. Customers who check in less than an hour prior to scheduled departure will not be accepted onto the plane, so play it safe!

If you’re not leaving the emirates for Eid, don’t worry, we’ve put together a list of the best Eid staycation offers in both Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Eid Mubarak!
