In celebration of the UAE’s 50th anniversary ,luxury Maison Montblanc has launched “In My Time” – a film capturing the poignant memories and wishes of six Emirati women and men as their nation marks a milestone achievement in December 2021

The documentary offers insight into valued Emirati traditions, the development of the UAE during their time, and their wishes for the country’s future. It premiered last week in Dubai’s artistic and cultural hub Al Serkal Avenue.

“The women and men who contributed to the project follow different career paths and interests, but all are unanimous in their deep pride of the UAE, what it has achieved in just 50 years, and their aspirations for its future,” said a statement from Montblanc.

Pioneers in a variety of fields, and keen for the world to learn about the UAE, each individual shares different perspectives on the UAE in the film.

Aida Al Busaidy, as a communications strategist for a UAE government entity; Shurooq Zainal, as the first female Emirati legal director for a global private sector company; Salah Tahlak, as Executive Vice-President of Dubai Duty Free; Talib Hashim, founder of TBH Consultancy, a leading human resources company focused on Emiratisation; Mohammad Al Falasi, a passionate marine conservationist and co-founder of the Naw organization of Emirati free divers; and Eman Al Suwaidi, the first Emirati female paramedic and rescue diver.

Historic footage of an old Dubai adds visual nostalgia to the stories, with the film culminating in the selection by each person of a single word to describe the UAE.

“Our first boutique in the Middle East opened in the UAE three decades ago, and it continues to be a key market for us.  We’ve built an extremely loyal community here, and appreciate the warmth of the Emirati people and their interest in our Maison,” said, Franck Juhel, President of Montblanc Middle East, India and Africa.

“Support of culture and the arts is ingrained in our DNA at Montblanc, acting as a platform for storytelling that is recognized around the world.  It is our honour to pay homage to the UAE with this visual time capsule, and we hope that “In my Time” offers a window into the richness of the UAE culture and the vision it is following as marks its 50th year.”

“In my Time” will be screened in the Montblanc boutique in Dubai Mall until December, and adds another dimension to the recent launch of Montblanc’s UAE Limited Edition Star Legacy Orbis Terrarum LE71 timepiece – limited to just 71 pieces in reference to the formation of the UAE in 1971.
