…and introduce the Excalibur Aventador S

In what was one of this year’s worst kept watch secrets, Swiss watchmaker Roger Dubuis officially unveilled its new partnership with Lamborghini last night at the Italian supercar manufacturer’s headquarters in Bologna. What is even better news is that with the new collaboration comes with new watches: the Excalibur Aventador S.

Stressing the similar mind-sets of the companies, the new partnership (and new timepieces) will look to blend the daring designs and precision of Roger Dubuis, with Lamborghini’s iconic aesthetic and performance.

As the name suggests, the Excalibur Aventador S is inspired by the Italian marque’s Aventador S supercar. Not only does the design pay tribute to the car’s engine, but it also debuts an all-new calibre – called “duotor” – made up of double balance-wheels and a completely revamped 312-part movement.

Additionally, the 45mm Spider watch cases are made using multi-layered carbon and/or C-SMC carbon used for Lamborghini supercars.

The launch saw the release of two limited-edition models. One with yellow accents (pictured above) which is limited to 88 pieces, and created using Lamborghini “Giallo Orion” yellow. The other is a much rarer orange piece, that is limited to merely 8 pieces globally.

The Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo EVO was an inspiration source for both of the models.
