By day he is the boss of Crescent Enterprises, Crescent Petroleum, Gas Cities and Pearl Petroleum. But it’s the night job that first propelled Jafar to fame.

A former Esquire Businessman of the Year winner, the British tabloids made the most of his dates with supermodel Naomi Campbell.

Jafar also teamed up legendary music producer Quincy Jones to launch the music production company Global Jumbo Group (G3), to promote and showcase the musical talents of Middle Eastern artists.

In 2011 it released the Arabic charity single Tomorrow/Bokra. Thanks to contributions from 24 artists across 16 countries, it went to number one on the Virgin International and Arab Music Charts for five weeks running.

Both Jafar and Jones were honoured by the John F. Kennedy Centre for the Performing Arts, in recognition of their efforts to bridge cultures through music.
