New balls please…

We’re pretty sure that when the Ancient Greeks were busy chiseling statues of great athletes and warriors they had someone like Rafa Nadal as their model. Well, much may have changed in the past couple of millennia but not everything, if Tommy Hilfiger‘s new campaign is anything to go by.

That’s right, the tennis superstar is the, ahem, ‘face’ of the US-brand’s new underwear collection, continuing both the fruitful collaboration between the two, and the ongoing trend of totally ripped athletes posing in their pants for big brands (see: David Beckham for H&M; Italian rugby players for Dolce & Gabbana etc.).

The new Hilfiger underwear collection features the brand’s new signature waistband stripe, which brings the brand’s iconic red, white and navy palette to all products.

The campaign was photographed in Palm Springs, California, by Mikael Jansson and styled by Sean Spellman.

Oh, and just because we think it’s kind of cool, here’s a video of Rafa playing ‘soccer-tennis’ against footballer Gregory Van Der Wiel while wearing a Tommy Hilfiger THFlex suit.

The collection is available at Tommy Hilfiger stores and at Tommy.com
