Reddit has become the dark, bottomless pit of the internet where people can share, ask, and trade stories about some of the most bizarre, yet amusing subjects human beings have ever asked.

These Reddit communities become dedicated meeting grounds, with some racking up millions of users overnight, asking questions you’d never consider, yet finding answers from which you can’t look away.

The #1 Reddit community of 2023

AITA, aka AmITheA**hole, sits in first place, and racked up 57 million views this year. An extension of the #1 subreddit, r/AITAH, serves as a safe place to share interpersonal grievances and has become the standout rookie with 28 million visits in 2023 and an unbelievable 19,438% increase in views year-over-year.

And the top 3 rated posts using this acronym were:

AITA for silently getting up and walking out of the restaurant during NYE dinner after I was told to pay for everyone at the table (my inlaws)?

AITA for kicking out one of my bridesmaids for showing up in the wrong dress?

AITA for saying I’ll be driving myself and paying for my own room on the upcoming family vacation so I won’t have to be a babysitter?

Here’s a drunk Vince Vaughn in Swingers, asking the same question (fast forward to 1:55)

A few more popular ones were:

AITA for inviting my brother and sister-in-law to exercise, not knowing my SIL is morbidly obese?

AITA for serving my daughter garlic before her first date?

And for all of us navigating the dating scene:

AITA for not paying for my date? This one has over 14k votes and 2k answers, so have a read and see what you think.

AITA for leaving my date at a bar?

And, a personal favourite, from someone who seems a bit on the spectrum:

AITA for not letting my date use my bathroom? What exactly are you hiding?

And one I can only assume will see a rising trend come December 25: AITA for returning the sweater grandma got me for Christmas?
