Have you ever sat down on a gym bench and thought to yourself, “If only this thing was a bit more artistic,”? Well, during the 2024 Milan Design Week, Technogym commemorated its 40-year journey with a special exhibition titled “Design to Move.” This showcase highlighted 40 distinctive Technogym Benches, renowned as one of the brand’s iconic home wellness products. Each bench is creatively crafted by 40 diverse international designers and artists, representing a global collaboration in celebration of Technogym’s milestone anniversary.

The exhibition delved into the unique and profound connection between design and wellness, fusing style with functionality, emotion with tangibility – an integral aspect of Technogym’s identity since its inception. At just 22 years old, Nerio Alessandri founded Technogym in his family garage, blending his passion for technology and design (TECHNO) with his dedication to exercise (GYM). Since then, the brand has evolved from a fitness equipment company into a holistic ecosystem promoting wellness lifestyle, emerging as a prominent staple of Italian design.
Utilising the Technogym Bench as a blank canvas for creativity, “Design to Move” showcased the distinctive works of renowned designers and artists including: Patricia Urquiola, Antonio Citterio, Nendo, Walter De Silva, Mario Antonioli, Elena Salmistraro, Kelly Hoppen, Michele Bönan, Rolf Sachs, Piero Lissoni, Nerio Alessandri, Tiffany Lovage, Giorgia Apreia, Gustavo Martini, Ludovica Messina, Malika Novi Dzhamaldaeva, Mariana Prestes, Yuetong Shi, Renin Bilginer, Univers Uchronia, Anaïs Coulon, Iwan Suastika, Wilson Ng, Myles Igwebuike, Tosin Tòròmádé, Osiris Hertman, Kate Constantine, Karen Chan, Alek.
