I n 2023, the team at Henry Jacques came across a rose like no other during the first harvest from the rich grounds of its newly developed Atelier in the South of France. That rose—called the HJ Rose de Mai—spawned an idea at the famed haute perfumer, an idea that required extracting the essence of that singular rose harvest and transforming its limited yield into a unique trio of scents that would be collated as its specialist ‘Collection de L’Atelier’.

Last year, when the brand released the first limited-edition trio of its 2023 vintage, the reception was so enamoured that it cemented the idea to follow it up with a second edition this Spring.

Using the 2024 harvest of the HJ Rose de Mai, this year’s ‘Collection de L’Atelier’ again features three limited-edition expressions: Rose Alba, Rose Zephyr and Rose Tres Rose 2024. Due to the limited nature of the HJ Rose de Mai harvest, each edition of the Collection de L’Atelier is restricted to just 500 bottles, with the scents only allowed to be purchased as a set of three 30ml bottles delivered in a hand-crafted case.

The beauty of each collection is that due to the varying nature of the rose’s harvest—which
is directly affected by the annual weather and atmospheric conditions—each year gives rise to a subtle differences in the core of the fragrances, so that each year is different from the last.
