Conor McGregor's insane UFC 202 abs workout
Conor McGregor will be the first to tell you that without a strong core you don't stand a chance. The fist or foot is just the tip of the weapon—the power comes from the trunk.
And for three years, the Irish machine and his inked-up core seemed unstoppable. He won all seven of his UFC fights, six of them by knockout. Last December's vanquishing of Jose Aldo in a mere 13 seconds earned McGregor at least $275,000 per second. He swore like a sailor and had the oversized personality that the press loves to see in the best fighters.
That is, until March 5, 2016, when he got his ass handed to him in the second round by Nate Diaz, a welterweight from Stockton, California.
McGregor now has a lot to prove. His next chance is on Saturday, August 20, when he faces Diaz once again at UFC 202 in Las Vegas. And if he stands a chance, he knows he'll have to improve his core work.
This video, taken at McGregor's training facility in Las Vegas, shows the lengths to which he'll go to get that power he needs. It's like he's punishing his abs for their poor performance six months ago.
And hey, if McGregor's core fails him once again on Saturday, perhaps he can join the WWE. Oh wait, he's been making fun of the "messed-up p*ssies" in the league all week.
