Adidas Predator hits the 20 year mark
Adorning the feet of football professionals (and wannabe idiots like us) for the past two decades, last week marked the 20th anniversary of the Adidas Predator, with yet another new design being welcomed into its leathery fold.
In a football footwear world that is today pervaded by more brash, exotic hues than a Liberace outfit, the ‘ Predator Instinct’ signifies a welcome return to the classic red, white and black colourway redolent of the halcyon days yesteryear – when the boot was championed by legends from Gazza to Zinedine Zidane, right across to football fashionista David Beckham…before he got special silver/cream/blue and gun metal ones made specifically of course.
Of course, it’s not all kangaroo leather and black laces, Adidas’ newest effort still boasts technological features resolutely promising to improve your game, like the complicated sounded volutionary control frame, which extends around the boot and down onto the forefoot.
If these don’t float your boat, fear not, the brand will also be releasing 14 different versions of the Predator during 2014, many of which will be re-incarnations of the most popular designs of the last twenty years. So keep your eye out.
The Predator Instinct is in stores now.
