Bars in the emirate will not be permitted to serve drinks

Licensed restaurants in Dubai will be allowed to offer a full drinks service from Sunday May 23, according to reports from Arabian Business.

Restaurants both in hotels and standalone ones that have an alcohol license will be able to resume a drinks service, while maintaining the social distancing regulations – operating at 30 percent capacity and keeping two metres between tables.

However, alcohol can only be served along with food at the restaurants. There will be no standing allowed at bar counters and the service limited to tables.

There are also new timings in place for a mass disinfection programme in the emirate. From May 20, the disinfection programme hours run from 8pm until 6am daily until further notice. Previously they ran from 10pm until 6am.
