McLaren has created a mini 720s supercar for kids
McLaren has pulled the wraps off a micro-sized 720S supercar, designed for kids.
The kid-friendly supercar – dubbed the McLaren Ride On - is totally functional, with an electric motor, working entertainment system, butterfly doors and an ‘autonomous driving’ mode.
It has been designed for supercar enthusiasts (aged three to six).
Little drivers enter the vehicle via tiny butterfly doors, then they must put the key in the ignition and press the accelerator pedal to start. The electric motor that propels them forward even comes with artificial engine sounds.
The Ride-On can also move along using its autonomous driving mode, which unlike the name suggests is actually just a remote-control mode that lets parents control it from the sidelines.
When the driver puts on the brakes, the rear lights ignite (just like on a fully-sized 720s) and to ramp up the luxury the mini version is also equipped with an entertainment system and display screen, which kids can use to watch movies or play music.
The McLaren 720S Ride-On is set to cost $400 when it arrives later this month. It’s available in a variety of very McLaren colours.
