Louvre Abu Dhabi is putting on a photography masterclass for Eid
- The Louvre Abu Dhabi has announced a two-day photography masterclass
- It will be done in partnership with Manarat Al Saadiyat Photography Studio
- The masterclass will take place on June 7-8 and July 5-6 next month
- The class will see students build their own pinhole cameras
Just in time for the Eid break, the Louvre Abu Dhabi has announced a two-day photography masterclass that will see students build their very own pinhole camera.
The masterclass was announced ahead of the 'Photographs: An Early Album of the World' exhibition which opens this week.
During the masterclass, students will learn pre-digital photographic techniques. The exhibition - which features hundreds of never-before-scene images taken from the Middle East - will be available for Louvre Abu Dhabi goers for the rest of the month.

Abu Dhabi, 2 June 2019: Louvre Abu Dhabi announced a two-day photography masterclass in collaboration with Manarat Al Saadiyat (MAS) Photography Studio, as part of the Photographs: An Early Album of the World exhibition programming. The masterclass will take place between the Louvre Abu Dhabi and MAS Photography Studio on 7 – 8 June and 5 – 6 July.
For the first day of the masterclass, participants will explore the first photography exhibition held at Louvre Abu Dhabi, Photographs: An Early Album of the World, where they will discover pre-digital photographic techniques, and build a simple pinhole camera to experiment with composition, space and light at the museum.
On the second day, participants will head to MAS Photography Studio, where they will develop their film using techniques discovered by the first photographers.
The masterclass is suitable for those who are 16 years old and above, the classes run from 3 – 6 pm each day and costs AED 168 per participant. A reduced rate of AED 105 is available for participants between the ages of 16 – 22 and Art Club members.
