-The Influencers - Peter Barron
When a career as a footballer unfortunately didn’t work out, the Irishman decided to take advantage of the situation and make sure other people learnt from his experience. As a fitness coach amidst the region’s recent fitness industry boom, Barron’s workout videos and positivity has seen him grow a sizeable and loyal following.
How important a role does social media play in your life?
Very important. I do a lot of work out videos as a way to help give people ideas of workouts they can do at home or in the gym.
The goal is to inspire them to get started on their own fitness journey by suggesting simple ideas that they can do at home.
What makes you stand out?
That’s something I constantly ask myself, but don’t think it’s a case of standing out. For me it’s just about helping the people that do follow you. If your audience grows then you know you are doing something worth doing.
Is there a particular message you try to deliver?
It is important to have a balanced lifestyle. Fitness is about finding an area you’re comfortable in. A lot of people will go to extremes for six months to lose 10kg, but they will end up hating what they are doing. I believe that you need to need to find something that allows you to get to where you want to be, and be happy about it.
What does 2019 have in store?
I’ve been doing a lot of writing recently, and hopefully by the end of the year I will have my own fitness app. That will allow me to give out more advice and tips on a daily basis to a wider audience.
