-The Influencers - Dr. Amit Asudani
Wanting to help reshape the dated stereotypes of dentists, the stylish orthodontist and micro-influencer has embraced social media not just as a way to interact with his clients, but as a broader way to help educate a bigger audience.
Has social media changed the way you work?
Yes, and no. The profession is still the same, but before everything was based on personal recommendation. Today, you can use Facebook and Instagram to actually show people your work. Today, quite a lot of clients actually use social media to get in touch with me seeking advice.
How important a role does social media play in your life?
We are living in the age of social media. It has become so ubiquitous in our lives impacting the way we dress to the places we choose to eat. It is important, but must be used in the right way.
Is there a particular message you try to deliver to your audience?
I see a big differentiation between information, education and influence. The most important part for me is the education bit. What I want to
do is not so much ‘influence’ people, but help ‘educate’ them.
Who influences you?
Dr. Sam Saleh. He is a US-based doctor in California whose body of work is something I really look up to. The way he works and the way he lives his life is inspiring.
What does 2019 hold for you?
In 2019, I want to learn Arabic, learn one form of self-defence, and, ultimately, try to make
more people smile — literally.
