-Esquire Experiences - Hormuz Grand Hotel Muscat, A Radisson Collection Hotel
Sometimes the best vacations are closer to home than you might think. Muscat, for example, is a thriving city that offers visitors an exciting blend of traditional culture mixed-in with adventure tourism and a whole lot more.
But choosing where to stay can be a real challenge here. Do you go for the convenience of staying right in the middle of the city? Or do you go further afield, giving you better access to the country’s thriving landscapes? Each has its pros and cons, but it turns out, there’s a third way: the Hormuz Grand way.
The Hormuz Grand Hotel Muscat is a Radisson Collection Hotel, which is part of the group’s luxury division. It specializes in a new breed of luxury that provide five-star service with respect for local cultures. More importantly, this property puts all of Oman on your doorstep.
The hotel is just a few minutes away from Muscat International Airport which not only makes getting into the city a doddle (it’s about fifteen minutes away by car), but also gives you access to Muscat’s Mountains (and a whole host of things to do).
Each of the 231 rooms are modern but elegant at the same time; a subtle mix of green and blue hues tied together by locally-inspired art.
The hotel has an all-day dining restaurant named “The Straits” (inspired by the Strait of Hormuz) which also offers a delightful brunch, OMNY Brasserie – an interesting take on a New York Style brasserie which flavours of Oman – as well as Qureshi Bab-Al-Hind, an award winning Indian Restaurant.
The pool is a standout feature here, situated almost at the center of the property. It lets guests relax alongside the hotel’s ever-running water features.
Location is key when choosing any hotel to stay at, and the Hormuz Grand Hotel Muscat certainly ticks that box when it comes to exploring Oman. However, more than that it offers a very luxury take on hospitality – and one that we’ll come back for again and again.
