- Thunderstorms swept across the UAE on Sunday
- The heavy rain is expected to continue untill Wednesday
- The UAE's Meteorological Committee has advised motorists to be very careful on wet roads
- An RTA seasonal campaign aims to increase motorists’ awareness of driving under harsher weather
We’re soon to be entering the hottest few months of weather in the UAE, but it seems like you won’t need to worry about the heat as heavy downpours are predicted to go on all this week.
Thunderstorms came across many parts of the UAE last night, including Dubai, but this forecast has now been extended to Wednesday. Rainfall is also predicted on Thursday (but the rain looks like it will clear up for the weekend).
The Met Office has advised motorists to be cautious and steer well clear of wadis.
Maitha Mohammad Bin Adai, CEO of Dubai's RTA Traffic and Roads Agency, called on motorists to exercise caution during the days and weeks ahead, which have the potential of being covered in blankets of fog, and possibly rainfall.
Why is rain in Dubai such a big deal?
We’ll keep you posted but the weather is most likely hitting Jebel Jais, Fujairah, Al Ain, Al Quaa, and of course Dubai.
