For anybody travelling with Emirates this coming (three-day) weekend to celebrate Islamic New Year, know this: the following check-in hack could give your Tier miles one almighty boost.
You can actually earn 20 percent of the miles you need to move up in the rankings to silver, or maintain your elite membership, and all you have to do is check-in at Emirates City Check-in. But be warned, you’ve only got until August 15 to make the most of it.
Based in ICD Brookfield Place in DIFC, Emirates City Check-in opened in early 2023 and gives you the opportunity to drop your luggage off 24 hours before your flight. Most intriguing part, there’s a check-in robot on-hand to help. Strange side note, it’s called Sara. For those that fear the rise of the machines, there are also humans there to help. You can go there anytime between 8am and 10pm.
Once checked-in you’ll receive your boarding pass and, as a result, earn either 5,000 bonus points (if you’re a Blue or Silver member), 10,000 (if you’re Gold) or a whopping 30,000 for Platinum status.
Once you’re all checked-in, you can either chill for a while at ICD, do some shopping, or simply book an Emirates chauffeur for the 12-minute journey to DXB.
