This design-led eyewear brand is changing the game
From the very beginning, the marriage of design and cutting edge innovation has been the driving philosophy behind LINDBERG. The upmarket Danish eyewear company's growing success has been built on its ultra-lightweight frames, which have not only picked up hoards of awards for their designs, but also revolutionised the industry.
Famed for creating frames that are without screws, rivets or welded parts, LINDBERG's technically advanced frames take inspiration from the minimalist aesthetic and impeccable craftsmanship of Danish modernism. Fuelled by innovative - and patented - technology, it has resulted in ultra-lightweight products that are also totally customisable.
LINDBERG's modular system is a significant part of what also makes the brand stand out, allowing the wearers to customise every element of the frames. Customers are able to pick the design, material, colour, finish and size of their frame, with each one then individually crafted and hand-finished in-house by specialists back in Denmark. All in all, there is approximately a mind-blowing one billion different combination variations possible.
Still a family-run company, LINDBERG burst onto the scene in 1985 with the groundbreaking AIR Titanium range, which upended the eyewear market with its delicate silhouette that was not only featherweight and virtually indestructible, but at the time, titanium was not widely available on the consumer market.
Never content on resting on its laurels, LINDBERG was also the first brand to patent an entirely screw-free frame, which remains a signature of its designs today.
As you would expect from frames made (and priced) to reflect its upmarket craftsmanship and quality, everything is made using responsibly sourced and exceptionally long-lasting materials including titanium, platinum, gold, buffalo horn, fine wood and even diamonds.
Originally founded by optometrist Poul-Jørn Lindberg and his architect son Henrik, the company today is still run by Henrik who maintains the family business's core philosophy of innovative design made with uncompromising quality.
