Hublot Big Bang e is a luxury smartwatch that costs US$5,200
Hublot has unveiled its second smartwatch, the Big Bang e.
The new watch comes out on the heels of fellow LVMH watch brand TAG Heuer’s second iteration Connected watch.
The Big Bang e comes in two variations; titanium and black ceramic. Both include a 42mm OLED high-definition touchscreen wrapped in ultra-hardy sapphire crystal. Under the hood, you get a Snapdragon Wear 3100 processor, 1GB or RAM, 8GB of storage and a 300mAh battery.
As per its LVMH sibling, the Big Bang e comes with a few features beyond the typical Android Wear operating system.
The Big Bang e has its own custom watch faces, each with handy new abilities – such as a moonphase and the ability to change colour throughout the day (part of the #HublotLovesArt initiative). The various faces come with a variety of faces, including GMT and one with a power reserve.
According to Hublot, more custom watch faces and dials will be unveiled over the next few months, with distinct versions coming courtesy of Hublot brand ambassadors and friends of the brand from the world of art.
Speaking at the launch, Hublot CEO Ricardo Guadalupe said, “Electronic watches were created in Switzerland using quartz in the 1970s. Fifty years later, we are continuing in the same innovative vein by producing a second smart watch which boasts an extremely high level of technological sophistication, whilst embodying all the aesthetic values, technical features and excellence that have ensured the reputation of our Big Bang collection.”
“Ever more faithful to our "Art of Fusion" motto, we wanted the BIG BANG e to unite Hublot's highly advanced technical materials with the very latest innovations from today's digital world.”
Hublot’s first smartwatch was revealed back in 2018 in celebration of the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
