Sony postpones PS5 reveal to ‘let more important voices be heard’
As the world grapples with ongoing coronavirus lockdowns, the official Sony PlayStation 5 reveal was going to give gamers around the world a brief respite.
However, amidst the current unrest happening in the United States due to the death of George Floyd, Sony has decided to postpone its PS5 reveal until later on in the year.
The reveal was scheduled for June 4, however Sony has said it wants to ‘let more important voices be heard’.
“While we understand gamers worldwide are excited to see PS5 games, we do not feel that right now is a time for celebration” Sony shared on Twitter.
“And for now, we want to stand back and allow more important voices to be heard.”
The hour-long launch event was going to showcase some of the exclusive titles for the PlayStation 5, when it becomes available closer to December.
The next date for the PS5 reveal has not yet been set.
