Is Henry Cavill really coming back to play Superman
Henry Cavill will return as Clark Kent in a new DC movie.
That’s according to Variety, which says Cavill will reprise his role in a yet untitled DC movie.
Cavill starred as Superman in 2013’s Man of Steel, then again in Batman V Superman and Justice League.
While DC has no plans for another film dedicated to Superman, it’s thought that Cavill will once again don the red cape and make an appearance in another film (potentially, The Flash’s first standalone movie).
Cavill has always said he’d be up for another crack at Clark Kent. He spoke to Men’s Health back in December, saying “the cape is still in the closet… It’s still mine”.
“I’m not going to sit quietly in the dark as all the stuff is going on. I’ve not given up the role. There’s a lot I have to give for Superman yet. A lot of storytelling to do. A lot of real, true depths to the honesty of the character I want to get into.
“I want to reflect the comic books. That’s important to me. There’s a lot of justice to be done for Superman. The status is: You’ll see.”
Cavill has been busy lately. He starred alongside Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible: Fallout, and recently starred as Geralt of Rivia in Neflix’s The Witcher.
