Marriott is using high-tech disinfection sprayers to protect against COVID-19
Marriot Hotel Group – which includes brands such as Sheraton, Westin, Renaissance, the Ritz-Calrton and W Hotels, have revamped their post-COVID-19 sanitization strategy, including new technology to ensure future travellers and guests remain safe once travel resumes.
One of the newest enhancements to their housekeeping services are the use of electrostatic sprayers, that fire hospital-grade disinfectant. The technology is recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention,a s well as the World Health Organiztion.
The sprayers will be used in guest rooms, lobbies, gyms and other public areas. The group said that it was also using ultraviolet technology to sanitize key cards. Disinfectant wipes will also come complementary in rooms.
Guests will also notice more hand-sanitizing stations near hotel entrances, front desks, elevators and meeting spaces. Desks and staff will also have to maintain social distancing measures, including partitions added at front desks. Staff will also be supplied with masks and gloves.
The hotel industry has been affected as much as the airline industry, as hotels and flights shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
