75 per cent of Dubai has been disinfected
As of last night, 75 per cent of the city of Dubai has been disinfected by Civil Defence.
The round-the-clock sanitization efforts have now reached a vast majority of the city, as well as 490 field visits to labour camps across the emirates.
According to Major General Rashid Thani Al Matroushi, director of Dubai Civil Defense, teams have already sanitized some of the city's most densely populated areas.
"Our teams sterilised labour camps and spread awareness by teaching workers the hygiene skills to protect themselves from COVID-19," he said.
"We educated the workers by placing stickers in their accommodation on how to protect themselves from the virus."
More than 161,977 workers have so far benefitted from the campaign.
On Friday, Dubai's Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management announced that the sterilization programme would be extended fon another week. The extension follows the success the previous weeks' sanitization has had on curbing the spread of the virus in the country.
