Dover Street Market and Adidas reimagine the Stan Smith sneaker
With Dover Street Market’s sneaker space already boasting an accomplished range of the hottest names in footwear, you’d struggle to imagine how it could get much cooler. But with the launch of the new Adidas x DSM Stan Smith, it’s most definitely about to.
We all know and love the traditional Stan Smith tennis shoe, eponymously named after the tennis player of ‘70s glory. White upper, green heel, and, of course, Stan Smith’s face and signature staring up at you from the tongue, the shoe has been copped by everyone from Kanye West to Idris Elba, and most likely you, too.
While the classic kelly-green and white version is a legend upon its own, that hasn’t stopped a myriad of versions dropping over time, with Stella McCartney, Raf Simons and even Mickey Mouse getting in the action, however the shoes latest collusion may just be our favourite.
Rendered in minimalistic monochrome, the DSM x Stan Smith is a think of sleek beauty and unfussed design. While the silhouette remains the same, the green is gone in favour of blocked-out white and black designs respectively, with the Dover Street Market and Adidas branding being the only detailing on these sublimely-sparse kicks. We like, a lot.
The trainers drop on Thursday April 9, exclusively from Dover Street Markets e-store sneaker space. Get ‘em while they’re hot.
