Pininfarina’s Battista Anniversario GT is a US$3-million luxury hypercar
Automobili Pininfarina’s Battista Anniversario has made its world premiere; it boasts hyper car-worthy specs and costs almost US$3-million apiece.
The Battista was already rather exclusive: only 150 will be built and each costs around US$2 million. However, the Italian car brand announced this week that a special edition of the electric GT will be launched to celebrate the company’s 90th anniversary.
Only five units of the new anniversary model will be made, and each will feature a “unique heritage-inspired design theme’ and a load of new performance enhancements (despite most of the technical components being shared with the ‘standard’ Battista – including the 1,900-horsepower powertrain.
The wheels are one feature that has been upgraded, and vehicle weight has been reduced by 10kg thanks to a new type of aluminium.
These, complete with performance grade tires, are finished with a new set of rims.
The new Battista Anniversario will reach top speeds of 350-kilometres-per-hour.
The new car also features the Furiosa package, which gives the model a carbon fibre front splitter, rear diffuser and side blades, all of which work together to increase downforce and vehicle stability, especially when cornering.
ON the inside, the new model gets a series of bespoke design elements such as seats that have been ‘sustainably-crafted’ out of leather and Alcantara upholstery.
Both eh Battista and the Battista Anniverario are scheduled to go into production at the end of the year and will start at US$2.2 million (for the standard model) and US$2.9 million (for the anniversary edition).
