Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson made US$90 million in 2019
Dwayne Johnson cashed-in US$89.4 million last year, topping the likes of Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Hemsworth and becoming the world’s highest-paid actor.
Dwayne Johnson’s current net worth sits comfortably at around US$320 million.
Johnson’s popularity grew with his wrestling alter ego ‘The Rock’. He was the WWE heavyweight champion for nine years.
Since then, he has carved a name for himself in the movie industry and is today one of the most bankable stars in Hollywood.
The star made most of his money last year from the Jumanji franchise, which he co-produces. He also raked in cash from sponsorship deals with Under Armour, and shows such as HBO’s Ballers and NBC’s Titan Games.
The Rock is a hit among audiences, both for his lively personality off screen and his ability to leverage his incredible social media following to ensure his films are a hit.
Johnson’s films rarely flop (despite his first film role, as 2001’s The Scorpion King) which means studio executives are more than happy to shell out to match Johnson’s high price tag.
Johnson is due to tar in 2020’s Jungle Cruise, and 2021’s Black Adam superhero flick.
