Face masks become Paris fashion week must-haves
Whether to wear a face mask (or not) became Paris Fashion Wek’s biggest wardrobe decision this year, with the coronavirus outbreak affecting both international and regional designers.
Two Chinese brands – Shiatzy Chen and Jarel Zhang – previously said they would not be attending, while Giorgio Armani said the show would occur behind closed doors.
Chanel has moved a show that was due to take place in Beijing in May, after "taking into account the recommendations of the Chinese authorities".
Bernard Arnault – the man behind the LVMH empire (which is the world’s biggest luxury goods maker) played down the economic importance of the virus:
"The Chinese government have taken the problem on frontally, and in a transparent manner and efficient manner I think," he told French radio.
