Here's how you can go visit the new Banksy exhibit in Riyadh
The world's favourite street artist turned political activist, Banksy, is heading to Saudi Arabia. Well, its not clear if the elusive artist himself will be in attendance but his work will be showcased at an exhibition in Riyadh from February 20.
The show, entitled “The Art of Banksy ‘Without Limits’”, at the King Abdullah Financial Centre, will be the first time the artist’s works have been shown in the Middle East.
The exhibition, which has already featured in Amsterdam, Melbourne, Berlin and Paris, will open on February 21 and will include around 70 artworks from Banksy, including photographs and a variety of printed materials, theatrical effects and a documentary on the artist.
“The Art of Banksy is meant to celebrate Banksy’s art and drive his message of hope and humanity to the world,” according to organisers.
Banksy, whose identity is still a mystery, is a street artist known for his controversial, and often politically-themed, works, often engaging political themes, satirically critiquing war, capitalism, hypocrisy and greed.
The exhibition will be on from February 21 to April 20, 2020. Tickets cost 100 Saudi Riyal and can be bought here.
