Who do you like most? Instagram offers new analytics
Instagram is making it (slightly) easier to understand how and why it shows you content.
The social media platform announced a way for users to see how information about their app usage influences their activity and newsfeed composition.
It’s a move to help users manage the accounts they follow. There are now two new ways to organise your ‘following’ lists – either by those you interact with the least or those that popup most in the nedws feed.
Hit the new ‘Following’ tab on the user account page, and you’ll find a new organisational platform including “Least Interacted With” and “Most Shown in Feed”. When enabled, you can see users who have been inactive over the past 90-days (effectively, letting you cultivate your own newsfeed).
Users already can sort their following lists by the date they followed the profile, but these two additional options should help people focus on those they enjoy interacting with.
The update has just started to roll out globally, so you should get a notification to update your app very soon.
